Guidebooks

Three short books, in the order a man usually meets them: a first conversation, a first meeting, and the work of running a group over time. Free to read and to share.

How to use these

These are companions to the work, not a curriculum to finish. Read slowly. Let a page sit with you before moving to the next. A man who reads all three and never starts a conversation has missed the point; a man who reads a single page and acts on it has found it.

Start with the guide that meets you where you actually are. The order below is a suggestion, not a sequence, and you do not need all three. Take what serves you, leave what does not, and pass them on to any man who might be ready. They are free to read and free to share.

Regenerative Use Guidelines

Use these documents and how-to guides with one intention above all: to increase life, in yourself, in the men around you, and in the places and systems you touch.

There are many frameworks that carry the word "regenerative." These are the principles Regenerative Men asks you to hold as you put this work to use:

  • Increase life. Let the measure of any action be whether it adds to the quality and quantity of life around you.
  • Whole-systems thinking. See the whole before acting on a part. Notice how your work connects to the people, place, and systems it sits inside.
  • Diversity. A healthy system, like a healthy group, draws its strength from variety: many men, many projects, many ways in.
  • Reciprocity. Give back more than you take. Stay in relationship with the consequences of your work over time, rather than optimizing from the outside.
  • The long view. Favor what compounds across decades and generations over what pays off this quarter.

Keep these in mind in how you use, adapt, and carry forward these methods. Take what serves the work of increasing life; leave the rest.

Read one, then reach out

A man who reads everything and never starts a group has missed the point. If something in these pages lands, the next step is a conversation.
